Lassonde Student Clubs

At the Lassonde School of Engineering, there is a wide variety of ways to get engaged in the community.   
The clubs and student organizations at our school offer some fantastic opportunities and plenty of fun alongside personal development. Check out what we have to offer: 

For Our Undergraduate Students: 

 
  • Appdroid
    -AppDroid is club designed to create an environment where students can exchange creative app ideas, test them, and learn about app development.

     
  • ASME@york Chapter
    -ASME is a non-profit membership organization which provides collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, aiming to help the global engineering community develop solutions that will benefit the community.

     
  • Canadian Satellite Design Competition (CSDC)
    -Participate in the only Canadian inter-university satellite design competition with goals to design and build an operational cube satellite.

     
  • Civil Engineers of Lassonde
    -CEL is a community dedicated to civil engineering in York University. Founded in 2015, CEL aims to build a network for civil engineers in and beyond York campus. We uphold engineering traditions of York and Canada, by hosting functions and competitions and are a bridge to other civil engineering communities.

     
  • Computing Students Hub (CS HUB)
    -Network and meet others that work in the field, and find your passion so that you can build up those skills before you graduate.

     
  • Cybertroops
    -This club is aimed at inducing a sense of creativity among students in the field of information technology. It's about learning, understanding and implementing innovative ideas.

     
  • Digital Media Students Association (DMSA)
    -The Digital Media Students Association (DMSA) is a group of students who offer academic, social, and career support to students within and beyond York University's Digital Media Program. 

     
  • Electrical Engineering Club for Students
    -The EECS is for ALL students, to learn or practice practical and technical skills and use of equipment.

     
  • Engineers Without Borders
    -EWB works in international development to help create change in an unjust world where poverty still exists.

     
  • Geomatics Club
    -Our main objective is to create a home for all Geomatic, Environment, Surveying and GIS students driven students to engage in self proposed projects.

     
  • IEEE Student Branch
    -The IEEE York University Student Branch is dedicated to disseminating of knowledge related to electrical engineering and allied fields, including computer engineering and computer science, as well as the promotion of the IEEE organization.

     
  • Lassonde Design Club (LDC)
    -We are a collaboration between the faculty and students of the Lassonde School of Engineering whose goal is to promote design methodology, while having some fun in the process.

     
  • Lassonde Engineering Society
    -Engineering Society at York University is a non-profit organization that is a community for engineering students. Our mission is to help every engineering student with their needs, questions and any concerns that they may have, and  this organization also gives resources to all the engineering students that will help them complete their tasks.

     
  • Lassonde Media Group
    -Lassonde Media Group is an organization that represents the student voice of the Lassonde School of Engineernig and advocates their freedom of speech, striving to build an inclusive community and facilitate community dialogues.

     
  • Lassonde Motorsports
    -Our goal is to allow engineering students to gain practical first hand experience through  participation in the annual Formula SAE design collegiate series held by the Society of Automotive Engineers.

     
  • Lassonde Skyblazers
    -This clubs focus is on advocating the educational and enjoyment uses of RC/FPV controlled creations, while teaching how to design, create, and control the final engineered products.

     
  • Lassonde Student Government
    -Lassonde Student Government is a governing student body for all the Lassonde Students. We represent your interests to the administration and are here to provide you encouragement and support so that you excel at Lassonde.

     
  • Mechanical Engineering Club
    -York University Mechanical Engineering Student Society, Mechanical Engineering Club or MEC Club, is an association of students and faculty members at York University who have an interest in Mechanical Engineering.

     
  • Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)
    -Women In Science and Engineering" or WISE is a chapter (of organizations that have existed in other universities) and a brand new initiative of Lassonde. WISE promises to work to make the Lassondian women more successful and more confident.

     
  • York Atmospheric Science Club
    -The York Atmospheric Science Club aims to educate and inform its members and other like-minded individuals about all things weather and other atmospheric phenomenon. It is intended as a way for Atmospheric Science students, and those in related programs, to get to know each other and to learn about some of the applications of our studies in the real world.

     
  • York Rocket Society
     
  • York University Rover Team
    -The York University Rover Team (YURT) is a group of enthusiastic undergraduate and graduate students from a wide array of disciplines who advanced rover prototypes to compete in NASA's Lunabotics Mining Competition and Mars Society' University Rover Challenge.
